YBD offers New England maple shells from the Keller Shell company.  YBD currently offers 6 ply, 8 ply, and 10 ply as the standard types.  Upon special request, 20 ply to 50 ply shells can also be done with or without special venting.  

 

At the next level of shells, are the exotic stave wood shells.  The woods used for these shells are as follows: Jarrah, purple heart, walnut, cherry, maple, birch, oak, ash, mahogany, padauk, birseye maple, bubinga and zeebrawood.  These shells come at a higher cost than those of ply.

 

At about the same price as the stave shells, we are now pleased to offer solid steam bent shells.  Please ask for a quote.

 

Acrylic shells are also offered in a variety of colors such as red, blue, green, orange, coke bottle, fluorescent colors, and other varieties.

 

Shell sizes carried are standard sizes found on drum sets and in concert settings including concert tom sets, field drums, and full drum sets.  Please let us know if you have any special requests

All drums are hand rubbed with stain followed by tongue oil inside and out.  After this step, you have the choice of semi-gloss or gloss finish.  We are able to do almost any color stain.  Any wood shade is possible and basic colors such as red, blue, etc.  Please feel free to visit our photo page to see examples of our drums.  

YBD offers these basic types of strainer systems as seen below.  YBD is always adding options, so please contact YBD with any special requests.  At request on concert drums, Pearl Triad strainers can be installed.
